Promoting Safe & Healthy Relationships in Tehama County
Domestic Violence Response Alternatives to Violence has provided services to victims of domestic violence and their children since 1994, including a 24-hour crisis hotline, legal advocacy, and emergency shelter. DV services have been expanded recently with the addition of on-site transitional housing, a rental assistance program and an increase in the number and types of legal assistance available for victims.
Therapeutic Counseling Professional therapists are on-staff to provide one-on-one counseling for children, teens and adults affected by abuse. ATV’s Counseling Center, a facility dedicated to providing therapy services specifically to victims of child abuse and neglect, opened in 2016.
Perspectives ATV’s Perspectives program is designed to allow individuals struggling with abusive behaviors to discover tools for handling stress and address issues that influence their relationships. In its 52-week format, this program meets court guidelines as a Domestic Violence Intervention Program. Participants may also be referred by child welfare agencies, probation or parole, or even through self-referral.
Human Trafficking & Sexual Assault Response
Through collaboration with several community partners, ATV ensures that victims of sexual assault and human trafficking have access to forensic physical examinations locally and are supported throughout the process. ATV staff includes trained Commercially Sexually Exploited Children (CSEC) Advocates and Sexual Assault Counselors.
